"Frameworks of Educational Technology."

 Good Evening  Detectives,

On this blog we will explore one mystery of what I learned in regard to technological frameworks that we learned this week. This of course varies from person to person of course some may have learned very little on the account that they were aware of such methods, and this was simply a refresher course. In my case it was very informative. To some of the audience they are more technologically inclined and are more inclined than me. As the teacher mentioned some of us go as far back as the old floppy disk and Apple Computers or Dial up modems.

To begin one of the first models that we learned was SAMR ( Substitution, Argumentation, Modification Redefinition) These four tiers give four methods on how technology is used within a classroom. Originally, I would have used Substitution or Argumentation for my classroom methods, not because of not wanting to incorporate technology but to use it sparingly. Sometimes overusing a method can result in losing the classes learning curb completely. How many have had lectures in class, and it involved an hour or so by Microsoft PowerPoint? Soldiers have a phrase this occasion and it's called "Death by PowerPoint" hours wasted on listening to someone lecture you and staring at the PowerPoint Slides in mind numbing state. That I sense that every one of us who has undergone this can nod their heads in relation to such a moment. However, SAMR is not one of those methods that does this so we will go by each of them and what it entails.

Substitution is replacing traditional activities with digital. To illustrate my point this would be using Microsoft Word to do a homework assignment rather than using the traditional paper worksheet.

The next step is Augmentation which is a step up from substitution except it has multimedia images and photos. This is a good way for students to get creative from utilizing digital elements. A good example is doing a presentation or a student and incorporating videos and images to get a visual for the audience in order to keep their attention. A good example of this is what I am doing when you are looking at the blog and you have noticed photos to give illustration and to keep your attention.

Our next step is modification this a big step up by comparison to the previous two this is using a LMS ( Learning Management System) like canvas or something and using it for assignments, grading, or discussion. So, we already are getting an idea on this method, and I didn't even know it.

The last of this sis Redefinition this is making a lesson with the use of technology that seemed inconceivable. Such as a virtual tour of a location that seemed a fantasy one of which I am currently trying to discuss with the Australian Aboriginal people as we speak. Uluru or Aegis Rock is closed to the public indefinitely due to misuse. I have been in contact with friends that I worked with in the U.S. Army and with hopes that can point me in the right direction to get an exception to hike it, and make a virtual tour to share with classrooms all over the world to see the world from the top of that beautiful place. This plan is still in the dream phase and getting permission is the first step, but one can only imagine how the students would be inspired to have their own adventures of the world and cultures around them.

In reflection this method is a brilliant way to turn a subject that may seem boring into an extraordinary this with a great lesson can make people wish to learn and walk away more educated and a bit wiser when leaving the classroom
